The Time Traveler

In the year, 2828,humanity developed  time travel that became normalized within four years after its beginning. Children learn the mechanics of the technology when they reach third grade.Dr.Samuel Townson  an historian and history buff decided to attempt travel to 1776 to gain better insight into the founding of the United States of America. He graduated  from University of Science and Technology in Boston , Massachusetts. Dr Townson wrote an academic paper titled History of the American Revolution in his senior year. His assistant Lucky prepared the machine for him  to ride and check for any  abnormality in it.He found nothing out of the ordinary.

“Lucky,,is the History Bus ready for action?”

“Dr.Townson,”Everything is clear and safe.”Enjoy the trip.”

“Thanks, Lucky””See you soon” Dr.Townson entered the chambers of the  History Bus turning on the red button then he heard Lucky screamed no!

The History Bus roared sending him into the recent past of 1976 instead of 1776. It stops suddenly in front of the sign title Revolution Disco.Curious, Dr.Townson entered the club shocked by the decor dominated  by  the bright yellow and  red color scheme. The disco ball caught his attention prompting him to explore the place further.The owner of Revolution Disco  noticed the new visitor,”Dude, that is a terrible disguise , are you space alien in human form lost in time? Nathan’s place attracts oddballs, eccentrics,non- conformists, the strange and the weird.so he would not be surprised if a visitor from  another planet comes here.

“No, not an alien from out of space , but a time traveler from the 27th century, ” without fear of being  branded an insane weirdo. Dr. Townson observed the younger man’s reaction to his revelation surprised that Nathan did not mock him.

“Lucky for you , “I just opened my business and no customers have arrived seeing you in that  wack-out outfit.””I always believe in the possibility of time travel”,

“We represent a cultural revolution of disco”  said Nathan with a joyous tone.

“What year is this? asked Dr.Townson.

“1976,” Welcome to  the 20th century “,” Started to get dull from my wild  viewpoint. said Nathan with a grin”

.”Thanks, “I appreciated the welcome.” “I need to blend into disco club culture.’

“Your outfit would make  you stand out in a crowd plus mocking your appearance.”

“I have room upstairs with clothes in the closet.””You could rent on the House on tonight only.” said Nathan excited to have an out of this world customer.

Storytime Bakery &Art Studio

I created serveal places in my story The Hot Sun that includes Storytime Bakery and Art Studio an futuristic bakery with mixture of traditional elements owned by Marsha Wellville.She makes freshly homemade baked goodies daily &offers storytelling every Saturday for her customers with their family.&friends. Ten years ago,Marsha brought commercial the land close to the downtown West Haven.

She also offers art/writing workshops/classes weekly for local artists and writers to progress in their craft. Samantha a local professional  artist hosts a state wide art show quarterly seasonal Winter Spring,Summer,Fall locally .Marsha divided her bakery into five sections  a classroom, ,story cafe,  two art exhibits space and the pastry.

Storyline Bakery &Art Studio acts as a hub for gossip and theories about the new illnesses citizens calls The Plant Killer Disease. Marsha

The Hot Sun

CHAPTER 1

ZENIA

Zenià’s smartphone send her message  about a dangerous heatwave warning  through her I Weather App revealing the abnormally high temperatures in her rural community of Westville. After viewing her app , she went outside to confirm for herself. The heat overwhelmed her triggering a hot flash and prompting her to check on her herb garden. Zenia touch the soil  of her plants that bone -dry .She grabbed the basil, lemon balm, cilantro, oregano, rosemary, mint, and red raspberry taking them inside her home. Fortunately, her herbs survived.She first put them put front of her fan cooling them off also provide plant food and water for her herbs.. Zenia’s smartphone rings.

“Hello,said Zenia. She recognized the voice of the caller on the other end as Miss Victoria a co-worker of hers.

“Miss Victoria,” “What going on?” Is everything okay at work?”

“Miss Zenia,”Nothing out of ordinary except  for the  cancellation of company,s  summer picnic  because of the heatwave.” “Our supervisor Mrs.Maria Johnstone rescheduled to July 4th fireworks.

“That a bummer ,I was looking forward to the picnic.” said Zenia.

“Miss Zenia, “Did you check your herbs?” “They will not survive the scorching heat.”

“Yes,I brought them inside before called.” I just give my herbs plant food & water.

“That good, you going to them plus some vegetables &fruit.said Miss Victoria.Zenia heard a notification on her phone while speaking with Miss . Victoria.

“See you at work Thursday,” Miss Victoria,I have another person attempting to contacted me.”Make sure you keep hydrated in this scorching heat .

“Okay,mother dearest,Miss.Victoria respond in a sarcastic zone of voice.

“You funny,”Bye,” said Zenia ending the call &. answering the next one on hold.

“Hello, there,” “said Zenia.

“Gee,Zenia,” Was you talking to Miss.Victoria?”” I feel like I have been on hold forever,! said Supervisor Maria Johnstone. Zenia noticed  her supervisor’s higher -pitched voice filled with anxiety that alarmed her.

“Sorry about that.”. “Are you okay, you sound stress must be serious for you to call me?””What going on at work?”said Zenia.

“I need to you come in tomorrow at 11:00 am Mrs Zane & six other employees called off work because feel ill of the  heat .” “We are short-staffed with only Miss.Alexis &Miss . Victoria working.” said.Mara Johnstone.

Zenia works at Herbal&Greenhouse as herb grower & botanical expert. Maria Johnstone acts as head supersior of all the employees and a mentor to Miss . Zenia.Miss.Victoria assist Miss Zenia in care of the produce including taking  inventory and taking orders from customer. Miss.Alexis ‘s duties involving finances &running the cash register.

Zenia arrives at Herbal& Greenhouse Garden fifteen minutes early greeting Miss.Alexis the cashier.

“Good morning,Alexis, ” Any early bird?” said Zenia.

“Slower than usual, no customers since 9:45 am when Jonathan,s older brother Joshua visited our store earlier taking order for him .” said  Alexis.

“Strange , Alexis ,_Your man Jonathan normally comes in the morning unless he out of  town,or a business trip with his carpentry company,or sick.”Alexis smiled at Miss.Zenia acknowledge of her love interest. Jonathan &Alexis begun seeing each other a year ago.

“It is a possibility, because he travels during the spring &summer month.” said Alexis .”Jonathan, informed me , he has new contract for  a housing project in Texas.”

Suddenly, Miss Alexis received a text from Jonathan ,s older brother  Joshua who a chef at Herbal& Greenhouse Gardens. It read it he had to take his brother Jonathan yesterday  evening because  he passed out from the heat.  He just awake up asking for you.

“Is he okay , Alexis texted back.

Joshua texted Alexis “He feels weak and his temperature is still  too high. The doctors decided to keep him under observation for a couple of days before releasing him. Jonathan interacted with Mrs.Zane&other six employees .

CHAPTER 2

ALEXIS

The heatwave continued to wreck havoc  beyond five days without ceasing. All of Alexis ‘s greenhouse co-workers take  off work except  for  Victoria,Zenia &Joshua .Maria Johnstone give Miss.Alexis a promotion & she took over Mrs.Zane’s duties.She felt uncomfortable about her new job and struggle to adjust.

  

Collapse of The Welfare State & Economy

The American government becomes bankrupt because the cost of living increased of 85 percent. For an example :gas price  is 15.00 dollars due to sarcity of petroleum.   People begin growing their own garden because food became out of reach to working to the ultra-rich  .   Only billionaires&millionaires can afford that a stretch even for them. No welfare or food stamps program exist. Private non-profit nongovernmental organizations & charities fill in the gap. Haven Baptist created an ministry  that Workfare  that designed to get mothers  , fathers or the people with disabilities out of the welfare system by assisting them in getting gainful employment. They also provide psychological, professional, spiritual , emotional, and mental counseling/therapy for individuals enrolled in Workfare.

Alecia a therapist working for Workfare formed a support group for participants in the program that includes five women different  walks of life Sage, Michelle,Jessica,Helena and Cleopatra .She created a basic character synopsis for  each the women:

Sage :  thiry-five single & childless  woman who owns an spa& massage therapy business called Healthy Delights.She grow up  in an  atheist household where concept of God, the Bible,Gospel of Jesus Christ was forbidden knowledge.

Michelle: a single twenty- seven mother of one aged five whose partner disappeared while she was pregnant. She invited her friend Sage to her church. Michelle a former welfare dependent mother struggling to overcome her past.

Jessica:Michelle,s twin sister an single woman whose  a Sunday school teacher  children age 5-7 works as a professional development counselor at Workfare

Helena: a pastor wife  mid-fifites head of the women,s ministry at Haven Baptist Church. She also teach  biblically illiterate  women such as Sage

Cleopatra:a street wise teenager foster daughter of Helena who close to age out of the foster -care system. The state took Cleopatra at the age of ten years when her parents abandoned her during first stage of economic crisis .She runaway three times before Helena became her foster mother

                      Chapter I

                   MICHELLE

         

Michelle lives with  her five -year daughter Natalia in small green house on top of hill . She is the member of Haven Baptist Church and  takes care of their vegetable/ herb garden. Michelle  also enrolled in Workfare after her welfare check & food stamps stopped two years ago in final stage of the collapse .She  began taking Bible and entrepreneurship classes  offered by Haven Baptist.Michelle desires to grow her own garden and sell the produce on the local Farmer’s Market. Helena, Michelle’s mentor noticed her natural talent for gardening approach her after she finished planting peppers.

“Michelle,”  Our garden is flourishing under your care and blooming in abundance.””When I went on a road trip with Cleopatra exploring  ghost towns, I saw land of sale on the property?”

“Strange,”It makes sense, people are desperate ,since the government collapsed.””I have noticed an increase of land being available for sale .

They unleashed the bioweapon when Litenaunt Jonathon Lakes discover their bioterriost cell & destroyed them.The leader put an failsafe that trigger an explosion when their cell becomes comprise.

Stadium City one of the few communities virtually untouched by the zombie outbreak because of quarantine measures by the military.

The plague ravaged the United States killing 98 percent of the population and wipeout the largest metropolitan areas of America leaving no survivors News spread of the destruction aftermath of the destruction of the American cities prompt ing local government of the rural communities & cities issued an quarantine & martial law.

St.Patrick,s Day in Santuary 2100

The residents of Santuary 2100 celebrate St.Patrick, Day to honor the Americans of Irish heritage & descent.

The leaders and founders of Santuary 2100 declare March as Irish -American month two years after historical restoration of western ghost- town.

Churches offers free St.Patrick,s Day traditional Irish breakfast & luncheon to the public part of their ministry to the Irish-American community.

Aunt Faith,s Fantastic Journey bookstore also offers classes on Irish history,culture and the arts. Students received discount if they working on degree in Archeology,or Cultural Anthropology and other related studies connected in Ireland.

The bookstore also have courses in month of March on Cultural Anthropology and Archeology on Ireland plus support archeological exploration of the country.Needy student could apply work -study aid.

In the future tense , the survivors with the assist of Cassandra Wells rebuilt the ruins of an college renaming it University of Blibical Studies/Faith, Science ,Medicine , Technology and History

Warrior Women of Apocalypse is told from viewpoint of Cassandra Wells a teenager during the start of the nuclear war to the advance age of 105.

She created an record of the aftermath and humanity struggles to rebuilt society.
